Advice to Guest Officers

All Railway Officers coming to NAIR for Training must bring their official Laptop.

A) Non Availability of Accommodation for Spouses and Other Family Members of In-Service Trainee Officers

The Academy does not provide accommodation for spouses and family members of in-service trainee officers except in following situations:

(i) Participants of AMP and SMP courses as also SAG officers attending other courses are allotted rooms on single occupancy basis and are permitted to share the same with spouse on payment of stipulated charges. However children of guest officers are NOT PERMITTED in the hostel except for what has been stipulated for lady officers under item(ii)

(ii) Lady trainee officers having dependent child not more than 5 years of age shall be allotted a room on single occupancy basis out of few rooms earmarked for the purpose, and she would be allowed to accommodate one relative/ family member/ attendant in the same room to look after the child when the lady trainee officer is away for various training related activities. In such situation, lady officer will have to obtain prior permission from the concerned Course Director before start of her journey to the National Academy of Indian Railways. This may be done through e-mail. Non-receipt of reply to the mail must not be taken as a deemed permission.

Note- Attendant (other than a relative/ family member staying with the lady trainee officer to look after the child up to 5 years of age) is not permitted in the Mess. Separate take-away arrangement for food for such attendant can be made. Extra Messing charges for relative/ family member/ attendant shall be payable.

B) Claiming of full TA as per Railway Board’s Policy during training at NAIR/BRC

As per Railway Board letter no. E(G) /91AL6-1 dt 16.08.2005, and with the approval of competent authority, it has been decided that all the officers should pay the messing charges directly to the mess well before being relieved from the training courses. In the case of in-service officers, 100% TA claim shall be allowed. The mode of payment of mess charges shall be through Bank ATM/Debit/Credit Cards, which can be used in Bank POS/Card Swiping Machine or the practice in vogue at the time of payment. The mess charges are dynamic in nature reflecting actual cost of food with other related expenditure, and are fixed on cost plus basis.
